Meet Skeeter

HELLO, I’M SKEETER
I know what it’s like to…

  • Feel stuck in life
  • Feel like I’m not good enough
  • Be afraid that I’m an imposter – I’ll be found out
  • To feel disconnected with my dreams and goals
  • Be afraid to leave a job I’ve had for a long time for something I might fail at
  • Doubt my abilities and not trust that I will succeed at something new
  • Feel like ‘I’ve run out of time – it’s too late for me’
  • To be aging, feeling like I’m invisible and becoming less relevant

This is my story

I have been a student all of my life – dabbling in one thing or another. At the same time, I have been married for 47 years, raised 2 children, and worked as a paralegal for the same boss for 43 years. The continued learning was always secondary to everything else and then suddenly my boss passed away and since he was a sole practitioner, my job ended just like that. Now was my time to go forth and actualize my dreams, make an impact, complete those goals that always took a back seat to reality.

But wait, I was in my late 60’s! Was it too late? Did I dare take a chance? Was I good enough, did I know enough to actually give it a shot? I ultimately decided to give higher education a go and began graduate school to complete one of my dreams – a master’s degree. The struggle was real – being on campus at my age was not at all like the 60’s when I began my undergraduate studies oh so long ago! Half-way through, I had an accident on campus which further complicated and hindered my progress which was sketchy at best. However, stubborn determination kept me from withdrawing and giving up altogether.

The 2nd year of graduate school called for writing my thesis and creating my Final Product for graduation. The pandemic arrived just in time to create the perfect storm of challenges.

The Universe had my back, though. I found life coaching at the beginning of 2020 and with weekly coaching, cheerleading, accountability, and space for me to vent my frustrations and mismanaged thoughts and feelings, I was able to achieve my goal and get my master’s degree. In fact, I was so impressed with the industry, I went on to use the education and experience I gained at college to become certified as a life coach. I continue to get coached by the same cohort that coached me through to graduation. I self-coach and journal every day just like I brush my teeth!

I am here to be your cheerleader, accountability partner and carrier of your belief bucket when you need it. I would be privileged to ride shotgun on your journey to the culmination of your dreams and goals and help you navigate the storms along the way.

I believe in you – go on, take a chance of yourself. I guarantee you’ll be surprised at just how capable and worthy of your dreams you already are.  I can help you grow, see new possibilities. Working together we can find/create new strategic solutions to help you achieve the results/outcomes you have been dreaming about. I have been through the struggle and found ways to get through to the other side.

I have been and continue to be my best client.
Change is just a shift in mindset that leads to growth.
